Automatic table property for number of pages or word count
Now that tables/tags/templates have been released I think an amazing use would be for one of the properties to be an automatic measurement of page count or word count for the file/link associated.
Here’s my example - I’m doing my specialty exam for which I have an insanely long reading list to read in 6-9 months. Because of the new features, I can now organize that reading list completely in RemNote with the pdf files included and a date scheduling function. But it’s still hard to organise my study schedule because I’m not sure how long each file or chapter will take me to read and process.
In an ideal word I would have a calendar view on which I can drag each article or chapter around (with associated file) and I could see a sum for each day of the number of pages or word count or time expected to read it. And this way I could schedule my time better and not make unrealistic plans, as I could just drag things back and forth and see how the work load per day adjusts.
The remnote reader already tells me the number of pages automatically, and the fact that we can highlight words should mean you could probably get that count relatively easy. So it doesn’t feel like a huge stretch to have an automatic property give me that. I don’t know what would be more useful as a measure of workload, but any of the suggestions would already be a huge help.
Calendar function and cummulative math for number properties are extra requests but I’m guessing they’re already in the roadmap because they’re an obvious progression for the amazing work you’ve already implemented. :)
