Customizable Second Sidebar for Context/Information

Obsidian has this awesome secondary Sidebar on the right side to display additional information - I think RemNote could use something similar!

This would make a great addition to the current left sidebar which is used for “navigation” - let me elaborate below:


My suggestion:

  1. Give us an optional second sidebar located on the right side of the screem which is collapsable (like the left sidebar)

  2. Make this sidebar or the information displayed in that sidebar highly customizable as it should provide useful information, which each user might define differently

Information the sidebar could include:

  • Tag-Library: All your Tags in one convenient place

  • ToDo-List: All your currently open Tasks from your entire Knowledge Base

  • Source-Library: All your sources grouped by source-type/alphabetically etc.

  • Rem-Centered-Mini-Graph: Visualizes context/connections of the current Rem/document (could be the graph we currently get when clicking on the 3 dots on the top left → view graph)

  • Backlinks/References/Text-References of the currently active rem: similar to what we currently have at the bottom

  • Outgoing Links of the currently active Rem: Collection of all outgoing References/Links

  • Outline of the current document: all Headers of the document as a clickable outline → useful for quick navigation in big documents

  • Meta-Data of the current document/rem: like date created, last edited, Tags, Sources, Number of characters etc.

  • Flashcards of the current document: displays all the flashcards the document contains for quick access and convenient edits

  • Pinned Rem: A place where you can pin Rem’s that you want to be reminded of frequently

  • The Quick-Add-rem: For convenient quick notes

  • The current daily-doc or a calendar: Always automatically refering to the current day (without having to manually select the current day)

  • Customizable Query-Portals: A place to save queries that doesn’t clutter the navigation-sidebar on the left

  • A list of Keyboard-Shortcuts that the user needs often, but keeps forgetting :)

These are just some suggestions that came to mind - I really think that RemNote can draw on what Obsidian has here - I do think, that Obsidian does a great job with this context/information-sidebar on the right.

What do you guys think? What else coud that sidebar be used for?
