expand Only First level of children

PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE make it so if i have the cursor on a header and i want to only open the first level of children below but Not all childrenofchildrenofchildren then i can press a button combo to make this happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
right now i have to open either EVERYTHING (cntrl+shift+down), which is time consuming for things to load, OR open [idontknowwhat] (cntrl+down).
