Formatting Slots (for Templates)

If the rems were formatted a certain way before I turned them into a slot (or if I edit them after being a slot) I would like the same formatting that they had as rems to carry over as slots

Example
If I want a specific slot to be a header or a todo (checkbox) I would like the formatting to be applied to the slot. Currently, I have to go back & (re)format the slot when I add it to my KB.

This does not quite make sense to me as the purpose of templates is to use them for items you use repeatedly by reducing the effort needed to create these repeating items. Going back to reformat these items contradicts this concept

Formatting the todo would specifically be handy when on mobile since currently there is no way to convert rems into todo rems in bulk
