Option to Disable AI in Copy-Paste Function for PDFs
Hello,
I appreciate the new AI features in RemNote, but I’d like to suggest an improvement regarding AI usage when working with PDFs.
Before AI was introduced, the ability to copy and paste text and images from PDFs was already available in the paid version of RemNote. This was one of the main reasons I subscribed to the platform. However, AI is now automatically applied when performing this basic action, even when I simply want to extract content without using AI.
While I understand the benefits of AI-generated summaries and flashcards, I believe users should have the option to copy and paste manually without triggering AI processing. This is especially important for users with a limited AI quota, as it forces AI consumption even when they don’t intend to use it.
Currently, the only option is to disable AI entirely in Settings > AI before opening a PDF. However, this turns off all AI features in the platform, rather than allowing users to choose when and where they want to use it.
I suggest adding a toggle or option to disable AI for copy-paste functions, so users can choose when to use AI instead of having it imposed automatically.
I’d appreciate your feedback on this suggestion and whether it could be considered for future updates.
Thanks,
Jussara
