Tap/Swipe-Based Full-Page Flipping (Not Scrolling) for Tablets and E-Ink Devices

✨ What new feature or change would you like to see added in RemNote?

Add support for discrete full-page flipping (not scrolling) on keyboard-less devices—e.g., tap on the right or left side of the screen to go to the next or previous page, or swipe left/right to flip pages like in an e-reader.

This would replicate the functionality of using the left/right arrow keys on a keyboard, but adapted for touch devices. It would be even more effective when combined with a fullscreen reading mode for PDFs—especially on tablet-style devices—providing a clean, focused, and more comfortable reading experience.

🤔 What problem does it solve for you? How would it improve your workflow or experience with RemNote?

On tablets and e-ink readers, scrolling is uncomfortable and inefficient. E-ink devices, in particular, suffer from excessive screen refreshes during scrolling. Discrete page flipping avoids this, making the experience smoother and more usable. Additionally, on medium to large screens, flipping pages (instead of scrolling) allows the content to fit the screen consistently and be displayed in a stable, predictable way—much like reading a physical book or PDF. This improves comfort, navigation, and focus during review sessions.

🚀 Are there any examples of this suggestion implemented in other apps (if applicable)?

Yes—nearly all PDF readers optimized for tablets or e-readers implement this. ReadEra, for example, offers an excellent experience with tap- and swipe-based page navigation that feels natural and efficient, along with a fullscreen mode than enhances readability.
