UX: Cleaner portals and embedded queues

Problem
Absolutely love the app, but I make many fewer portals (transclusions) between my notes than I’d like, and it’s more of a hassle than it needs to be. This is important for my knowledge net because I aspire to have an atomic, densely-linked, loosely-coupled, concept-based, network where each concept has a single source of truth, so I can manage technical debt and avoid having to refactor large parts of the network when I need to make a revision.

Which means I would benefit from having better portal UX. : )

See images for how it looks atm. If they’re regular portals, they don’t get included in flashcards, they’re visually disturbing, and they’re annoying to navigate with keyboard (having to use my mouse while in RemNote is a real inconvenience when all other operations feel smooth and fast). And if I make them into embedded queues (which itself is a wonky process), they have large empty spaces between the Rem above.

Solution
I’d be happy if the portals just looked like embedded queues except the large empty space on top. Maybe this could be a state you can toggle with a keyboard shortcut.

Everything else about RemNote is so amazing, so I’m not gonna switch but it would make my live easier. Pretty please! ^^
